Description

Wild Turkey Master’s Keep 17 Year is a limited-edition Kentucky straight bourbon from Wild Turkey, released as the debut bottling in the Master’s Keep series. According to Wild Turkey, this bourbon was aged for 17 years and personally selected by Master Distiller Eddie Russell. One of the defining details of this release is its unusual maturation: barrels were aged in both brick and wood rickhouses, which Wild Turkey says helped create a more balanced whiskey by combining the milder, earthier character from brick warehouses with the vanilla, caramel, and oak extraction of wood rickhouses. Although the whiskey entered the barrel at 107 proof, the long aging process brought it down to a relatively low 86.8 proof, giving it a softer and more approachable profile than many ultra-aged bourbons.

In style, this bottle is best positioned as a mature, elegant, oak-forward sipping bourbon rather than a high-proof powerhouse. Wild Turkey’s own profile describes it as starting smooth and silky before opening into caramel and vanilla sweetness, while third-party tasting notes consistently add oak, citrus oil, butterscotch, chocolate, hazelnut, and a faint smoky character. Wine Enthusiast described it as a standout release with rich salted caramel, a warming butterscotch palate, and a very long finish with toffee, chocolate, hazelnut, and a subtle smoky exhale. Independent reviews also mention creamy texture, citrus brightness, butter, and polished aged oak, which fits the overall identity of the bottle very well.

If you’re writing product copy, the cleanest positioning is: a limited-edition 17-year Kentucky straight bourbon from Wild Turkey, hand-selected by Eddie Russell and matured in both brick and wood rickhouses, offering a smooth, layered profile of caramel, vanilla, oak, citrus oil, butterscotch, chocolate, hazelnut, and soft smoke in a premium 750ml bottle. It fits best as a collector bourbon, luxury sipping whiskey, or giftable aged bourbon
