The journey begins with the classic Lynchburg high-corn mash bill, which is filtered drop-by-drop through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal before entering handcrafted, charred white oak barrels. After spending years maturing to absorb rich wood sugars and deep color, the liquid is dumped from the casks and passed through a secondary layer of sugar maple charcoal a second time.
This final filter effectively polishes the whiskey, shaving off any aggressive barrel char or rough edges.
