By bottling the liquid at a commanding 55% ABV (110 proof), Macallan intentionally skips the heavy dilution process. The addition of ex-bourbon wood allows a beautiful, creamy vanilla and vibrant citrus brightness to float directly on top of the deeper European oak spice. Tasting Profile
Appearance: Bright, polished sun-gold with thick, oily, and fast-tearing legs.
Aroma: Lively, fresh, and complex. Upfront scents of fresh ginger, orange peel, and vanilla custard are followed by sweet notes of marzipan, gingerbread, and a bright undercurrent of green apple.
