This expression is constructed by marrying liquid from exceptionally scarce casks—many from cooperages that no longer exist—that have reached a unique pinnacle of flavor and color intensity.
The soul of Rare Cask rests in its heavy reliance on first-fill European oak casks that were handcrafted and seasoned with fine Oloroso sherry in Jerez, Spain. This specific wood type gives the single malt a dense, velvety texture and coaxes out a spectacular ruby-red mahogany hue that is entirely natural.
